The Premier League returns for matchday 23 with another set of important fixtures and among them is Brentford vs Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Brentford Community Stadium on Saturday evening with kickoff at 18:00.
Brentford have been a great addition to the Premier League with the club impressing on their first return to the top-flight following a 74-year absence. Aside from beating the likes of Arsenal, Wolves, Everton and West Ham they have also drawn with Liverpool and narrowly falling to Chelsea and Manchester United. They have generally claimed six wins, five draws and 11 defeats from their 22 matches and did spend most of the first half of the season around the mid-table.
However, the Bees have not been at their sharpest recently as they have only claimed one win from their last six league matches, suffering defeats in all the other five and are coming off a three-match losing streak including the 3-1 defeat to Manchester United at home in their mid-week fixture.
As a result the Bees have slipped down to 14th place in the standings with 10 points above the relegation zone and Thomas Frank will not want to be dragged into the relegation dogfight, therefore the Bees will looking to replicate their reverse results against their visitors earlier in the season.
Meanwhile Wolves struggled to find their form at the start of the campaign under Bruno Lage, but it appears that their patience is finally paying off as the club has been on an upward trajectory and seem on a peculiar charge for a coveted top-four place.
Taking 10 points from their available last 12 in the Premier League has left them in the eighth spot with just six points behind fourth-placed West Ham United with two games in hand, but the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have their own games in hand which they will endeavor to take advantage of.
Wolves though have been in good spirits lately winning all their last three league matches in a row and they will want to continue winning as they look to widen further the fourth-place race.
Brentford did manage to secure a 2-0 win at Molineux earlier in the season, but Wolves have gone up a notch or two defensively since the autumn, even if their attacking capabilities do still leave a lot to be desired on some occasions.
