Liverpool will be looking to keep their unbeaten start to the new Premier League when take on Brentford at the Brentford Community Stadium on Saturday with kickoff at 19:30.
Both sides come into the contest off the back of convincing wins in their respective League Cup fixtures with Bees cruising to a 7-0 win against Oldham Athletic while the Reds eased to a 3-0 win against Norwich City.
The two have also made strong starts to the new season with Brentford enjoying an impressive start to life in the top-flight as they have only lost one of their opening five matches, winning two and recording two draws and currently occupy the eight spot with eight points in the league standings.
The Bees head into the match off the back of an impressive 2-0 away win at Wolves and had to navigate the final 30 minutes with 10 men as Shandon Baptiste was red carded. Also, Thomas Frank’s side are in a good form having only lost one of their last six matches across all competitions and should be confident heading into the match as they welcome Liverpool to Brentford Community where they have already beaten Arsenal.
Meanwhile Liverpool remain among the few sides that are yet to test defeat this season as they have won four and drew one of their opening five matches and currently occupy the top spot with 13 points level with Chelsea and Manchester United.
The Reds have been on fire recently as they now boast six wins and a draw from their opening seven games across all competitions and have also won each of their last three Premier League away games by a 3-0 score line and currently enjoy a nine-match unbeaten run on the road. They are also in a good form as they haven’t lost any of their last six matches with a four-match winning streak.
Liverpool therefore head into the match as the favorites but Brentford have proven that they are not here to just make up the numbers and hence we expect a close and entertaining match.
