Bordeaux will be looking to extend their new resurgent form when they welcome Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, who will be looking to extend their eight-point lead, to the Matmut Atlantique on Saturday night with kickoff at 23:00.
Bordeaux have made an inconsistent campaign this season having just claimed two wins in their 12 matches, while picking up six draws and suffering four defeats in the run. They currently sit in the 16th spot on 12 points in the standings, only three points outside the relegation zone.
However, Vladimir Petkovic’s side have been in a resurgent form in the recent weeks as they just lost one of their last seven matches and are coming off a 3-2 win over Reims last Sunday with Jimmy Briand coming off the bench to score two goals that saw his side clench their second win this season with the winning goal coming in the 95th minute. Hence, Vladimir and co will be hoping for a similar result in the Saturday’s clash but face PSG a side they haven’t beaten since 2015.
Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile, have been impressive this season and should hold the upper hand going into this fixture and although they are not blowing teams away as usual in Ligue 1 this season but have been finding ways of getting the job done and hold an eight-point lead at the top of the standings and are the favorites to win the title this time around.
Indeed, it has been a strong display from PSG who have lost just one of their 12 matches this season picking up 10 wins and a draw in the process. They head into the match in good form having lost none of their last five matches across all competitions including a 2-1 victory over Lille in their last Ligue 1 fixture.
However, Mauricio Pochettino’s side are coming off a 2-2 draw against RB Leipzig in the Champions League a draw that saw them slip to the second place in Group A standings and will want bounce back this weekend.
