Juventus will looking to make a four-match unbeaten run in the Serie on the bounce when they make a trip to Renato Dall’Ara Stadium to take on Bologna in the fourth fixture of the league matchday 18 on Saturday night with kickoff at 22:45.
Bologna have avoided relegation ever since getting promoted to the top-tier in the 2015-16 season. They have been finishing around the mid-table in their last six Serie A campaigns and they seem to be right on track this season as they head into the 18th matchday exactly in the middle of the table on 24 points collected from their 17 matches and are 14 points clear of relegation zone and just four behind their visitors, Juventus.
However, Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side head into the match on the back of back-to-back Serie A defeats, losing 3-2 to Fiorentina at home first before falling 2-1 to Torino at away last time out. This means that Bologna are in an average form heading into this important fixture having won three and lost three of their last six.
With two sides tied on 23 points in the 11th and 12th places and Torino behind them on 22 points means that Bologna will want to claim all the three points on Saturday as defeat could leave them in the 13th by the end of the weekend.
Meanwhile Juventus have been this season too following a difficult campaign last season that saw the Old Lady lose their reign in the Serie A. Juventus have indeed, struggled in the opening months of this season recording eight wins, four draws and five defeats from their 17 matches to collect 28 points which have left them sitting in seventh, with 12 points behind league leaders Inter Milan.
However, Juventus have been trying to turn around their season as the Turin club has only lost one of their last six Serie A matches claiming four wins and a draw in the run, but head into the match on the back of a 1-1 draw against newly promoted Venezia last Saturday.
The draw however, marked their fourth-match unbeaten across all competitions including a slender 1-0 win against Malmo in the final group match of the Champions league. The win saw Massimiliano Allegri side overtake Chelsea to the top-finish in Group H.
Back to the Serie A Allegri’s side will fancy their chances in this match as they haven’t lost in any of their last 11 encounters against Bologna and this should be a routine win for the Serie A giants.
