AC Milan will be looking to get over continental disappointments and aim to continue their Serie A unbeaten start when they travel to the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara on Saturday to take on Bologna for the ninth league round with kickoff at 21:45.
Bologna have made a mixed-up start to the new Serie A season having won three, drawn three and lost two of their opening eight matches to collect 12 points, which have left them in the eighth spot in the Serie A standings.
Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side head into the Saturday’s encounter in an average form in the Serie A having won two, drawn two and lost two of their last six league matches, but are in a good home form this season as have lost none of their home fixtures picking up three wins and a draw at Renato Dall’Ara.
However, Bologna have been struggling against big teams and have already suffered a 6-1 defeat to Inter Milan this season and they face the Rossoneri who they have failed to beat on home soil since 2001-02 suffering 11 defeats in the process.
AC Milan, meanwhile have made an impressive start to the 2012/22 Serie A campaign and are among the four Serie A sides that are yet to taste a defeat this season heading into gameweek nine, picking up seven wins and a draw to collect 22 points that have left them in the second spot with just two points behind leaders Napoli.
However, things have been difficult for AC Milan in their continental campaign and their disappointments continued in the midweek where they suffered 1-0 defeat to FC Porto condemning them to their third successive Champions league defeat and currently occupy the bottom place in Group B with zero points.
Stefano Pioli’s side head into the match in a good form though, having lost just of their last six matches across all competitions while claiming four triumphs in the process and are on a four-match winning streak in the Serie A and should be in for a routine win here.
