Bohemians will be playing host to Shelbourne at Dalymount Park for their League of Ireland Premier Division contest on Friday.
The two sides, who have been out of competitive action for three weeks due to the international break, are only separated by one point in the table, with the hosts sitting in seventh spot just behind the visitors in sixth.
Bohemians will be looking to improve on their results from last month, which saw them win only one of their five league matches and pick up just five points from a possible 15 available.
Bohs played out a 1-1 draw at home against Drogheda United in their last fixture, which they were leading through a first-half opener from Jordan Flores, but Dean Williams scored an 84th-minute equaliser to force a share of the spoils.
Keith Long’s side are currently seven points and three places worse off than at this stage last season, and it will be a tough task for them to win their first top-flight title since 2009 as they are 19 points behind league leaders Shamrock Rovers.
Meanwhile, Shelbourne failed to extend their four-game winning league run as they were defeated 2-0 by Shamrock Rovers at the end of last month.
Richi Towell’s and Rory Gaffney’s first-half goals condemned the Reds to defeat in a contest in which they failed to record a single shot on target.
Damian Duff’s side, who were promoted as second-division champions last season, currently have no fears of an immediate relegation as they are sitting 13 points clear of the bottom two at the halfway stage.
Shelbourne head into Friday’s game after losing three of their last four away matches, and their last victory against Bohemians was back in April 2016 when they won 4-3 on penalties in the quarter-finals of the League Cup.

Bohemians news
Bohemians goalkeeper James Talbot was forced to withdraw from the Republic of Ireland squad last week due to an injury sustained in training and is unlikely to feature on Friday.
Therefore, Tadhg Ryan could start between the sticks behind a back four of Max Murphy, Ciaran Kelly, Jordan Doherty and Tyreke Wilson.
Shelbourne news
Shelbourne’s Daniel Hawkins, Adam Thomas, Sean McSweeney and Jordan McEneff are all doubtful, while Jack Moylan is set to start again behind forwards Sean Boyd and Jad Hakiki.
Goalkeeper Lewis Webb has returned to his parent club Swansea City, with Brendan Clarke now seemingly an assured starter between the sticks.
Prediction and Odds
Both sides will be looking to return to winning ways on Friday, and we are expecting a closely-fought contest between the two evenly-matched sides.
Bohemians played out a 1-1 draw the last last time they met Shelbourne on home turf and we can see a similar result coming at Dalymount Park on Friday.
