Bohemians vs Drogheda United Match Analysis and Prediction

Drogheda United will be looking to make it three league victories on the bounce when they continue their domestic campaign away to Bohemians on Friday.

While the hosts are currently seventh, three points above Friday’s opponents, Drogheda United occupy eighth position in the Premier Division of the League of Ireland.

Bohemians will enter the contest off the back of a 3-0 defeat at St Patrick’s Athletic on Monday, with the result leaving them seventh in the table, 12 points above ninth-placed Finn Harps.

Keith Long’s side have won five, drawn seven and lost five of their 17 league matches this season, collecting 22 points, and they are only two points behind five-placed Sligo Rovers with a game in hand.

They have won three, drawn three and lost two of their eight home league games this season, and will be facing a Drogheda side who have picked up just five points from their eight matches on the road.

Meanwhile, Drogheda will enter Friday’s fixture off the back of successive victories over Finn Harps and Shamrock Rovers, which helped them move nne points clear of the Harps.

Ryan Brennan’s first half goal saw them record a 1-0 win over Shamrock Rovers on Monday, and the back-to-back victories followed four straight defeats for Kevin Doherty’s side.

The Drogs, who finished seventh in Ireland’s top four last season, will have a relatively long break after this contest, with their next game not coming until June 10, at home to UCD.

Doherty’s side, who won the Premier Division of the League of Ireland back in 2007, played out a 1-1 draw with Bohemians when the sides met towards the start of April.

However, Bohemians won 2-1 when the pair last met at Dalymount Park in November 2021, and Drogheda have not won away to Bohs since June 2015.
