Both Birmingham City and Huddersfield will be looking for their first win of the new season when they lock horns at St Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium in their Championship Matchday 2 tie on Friday night.
Both sides were not convincing in their opening matches, with Birmingham recording a 0-0 draw at Luton while Huddersfield fell to a 1-0 home defeat to Burnley.
However, Birmingham, who barely escaped relegation last season, appear to be entering a transitional period following all the changes at the club in the summer. City will be encouraged with the point at away on the opening day and will be confident of managing three at home on Friday.
Meanwhile Huddersfield managed reach the playoff last season but fell to Nottingham Forest on the final. They will be looking to challenge for the direct promotion this around, but that will need them to quickly bounce back and try to build a strong start.
