Burnley will be looking to extend their unbeated run to 12 matches when they make the trip to St Andrew’s Stadium to take on Birmingham City on Wednesday.
The hosts are in a good run of form themselves after consecutive victories, but a contest against Burnley may prove to be their biggest test so far this season.
Birmingham have transformed into a different team since the introduction of Tahith Chong and Krystian Bielik away at Preston North End at the beginning of September.
John Eustace’s side only managed to pick up five points in their opening seven matches of the Championship campaign, but have collected 14 from their seven most recent games to climb into the top half of the table.
Such a turnaround in fortunes has been due to the creativity and steel of Chong and Bielik respectively, but also a well-organized defence that have only conceded 12 goals in 14 matches.
Meanwhile, Vincent Kompany has changed the footballing culture at Burnley as they seek to bounce straight back into the Premier League after relegation last season.
The ex-Manchester City defender has so far carried out that reinvention successfully, with his side top of the possession charts but most importantly leading the Championship with 25 points from 14 matches.
The Clarets have only tasted defeat once this season and boast the joint-best attacking record in the division having scored 24 goals, with only Sheffield United being able to match that total.
Jay Rodriguez is enjoying life back in the Championship with seven goals in 12 appearances this season, with all signs pointing towards the Englishman bettering the 22 goals he scored for West Bromwich Albion at this level in the 2018-19 campaign.
On-loan Chelsea full-back Ian Maatsen has been Burnley’s chief creator with four assits to his name this season.

Dion Sanderson served a one-game suspension at Hull City after picking up five yellow cards and could regain his spot.
Burnley news
Attacking midfielders Darko Churlinov and Scott Twine are still missing out for Bunley on Wednesday, which means that Josh Brownhill will continue in the role behind Rodriguez.
Kompany is likely to start the same side that defeated Swansea, with Anass Zaroury and Nathan Tella posing major threats on the flanks.
Prediction and Odds
Burnley are in strong form ahead of the trip to St Andrew’s but we are not expecting Birmingham to be broken down as easily as Swansea were on Saturday.
The hosts have fared well against the high-ranked sides in the Championship and a contest against the Clarets will be a challenge Blues fancy.
