Belarus and Slovakia will be kicking off their UEFA Nations League campaign on Friday, when they have an encounter in Serbia.
While the hosts will again seek for promotion after just falling short last time around, Slovakia find themselves in League C after their relegation last term.
Belarus’ push to rise to League B in the UEFA Nations League in the 2020 campaign ran to the final day, as they were top of the group after five games with three wins and 10 points.
They entered the last game against Albania, with the winner securing top spot, and they fell to a narrow defeat away from home.
That saw the White Wings drop from the summit and miss out on promotion by a point, before they had to go through a tough World Cup Qualifying campaign, collecting just three points from eight matches.
Georgy Kondratiev’s side most recently returned to action in March with a pair of international friendlies against India and Bahrain, where they firstly won 3-0 in Riffa before Andrey Solovey scored in a 1-0 win over the latter.
On the other hand, Slovakia will be looking to bounce back after their relegation and kick off with a victory in Serbia.
Stefan Tarkovic’c side had a tough Nations League campaign in 2020, starting life in group B with defeats to Czech Republic and Scotland, and a loss and a draw against Israel.
A 1-0 victory over Scotland kept them in contention to survive on the final day, but they went on to lose the reverse match against Czech Republic, dropping to League C as a result, before falling short in World Cup Qualifying.
Two draws and a loss left them unable to catch second-placed Russia, before Slovakia were at least able to finish on a high with a 6-0 thrashing of Malta.

Belarus news
Belarus will not be able to call upon key forwards Maksim Skavysh and Vitaly Lisakovich, both of whom are absent from the international squad.
Andrey Solovey should again lead the line as a result, having scored his second goal for the White Wings in his sixth cap against Bahrain in March.
Slovakia news
Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar will be the captain for Slovakia, having made 53 appearances for his national team.
He could again partner David Hancko at the heart of the defensive line, with Juraj Kucka continuing to operate in the engine room, while Ondrej Duda is a major threat going forward.
Prediction and Odds
Belarus have recently failed to put together good results at home, and they will want to overturn that run with a positive result here.
However, Slovakia boast a squad more than capable of topping their Nations League group, and we back them to overcome their opponents with an away win.
