Beijing Guoan vs Shenzhen Match Analysis and Prediction

Beijing Guoan take on Shenzhen in the Chinese Super League on Tuesday, with both teams in close proximity to the top of the standings.

Each side have lost just one of their opening four matches, and a win at the Workers’ Stadium should close the gap on the top three.

After reccording their lowest finish in four season during 2021, Beijing Guoan are motivated to make improvements and launch a stronger title challenge.

Xie Feng’s side will be relatively content with their outcome of their opening four games, particularly having suffered defeat in their first fixture.

Seven points have since been picked up from matches against Rongcheng, Tiajin TMT and Meizhou Hakka, although the last should have ended with a third successive win.

The Imperial Guards established a 2-1 lead when their opponents wnet down to 10men, but they allowed Meizhou to equalise at a player advantage after the break.

Zhang Yuning had earlier found the back of the net twice in that game, the forward taking his tally to three for the season.

Meanwhile, Shenzhen finished one spot lower than Beijing Guoan last season, but have made the faster start out of the blocks with three hard-fought victories.

Lee Sang-Soo’s side are yet to score more than twie in a single game, but conceding just three times is one of the best defensive efforts in the division.

Last time out, an early goal from Frank Acheampong earned the Youth Army a 1-0 home victory over Cangzhou Mighty Lions, the Ghanaian forward scoring his third goal of the season.

However, three of Shenzhen’s first four matches have come on their home turf, this game providing a different test as they aim to remain among the teams in line to challenge for the title of the Chinese Super League this season.

Beijing Guoan news

Beijing Guoan were forced into two relatively early changes last time out, with Samuel Adegbenro and Jin Pengxiang both being withdrawn by the 47th minute.

Wang Ziming and Zhang Xizhe were were brought in to replace them and are likely to earn spots in the starting lineup in this contest.

Shenzhen news

Shenzhen head into Tuesday’s contest without fresh injury concerns, and Lee Sang-Soo may opt against making any changes to his Shenzhen XI after overseeing another three points.

Xu Yue apears to be the most likely player to be brought into the side if Lee is to freshen up his midfield.

Both teams have already shown the potential of having the quality to maintain a title push this season, which should make for a competitve contest on Tuesday.
