Bayern Munich will be looking to register their first win of pre-season friendlies when they take on Borussia Monchengladbach in an exciting pre-season friendly this Wednesday at the Allianz Arena with kickoff at 19:00.
The German champions opened their pre-season preparations with a 3-2 defeat to FC Koln under the new management of Julian Nagelsmann who has overseen back-to back goals-fests in pre-season and will hoping that the third time is the charm. Nagelsmann’s Bayern recovered from the defeat to a 2-2 draw with the Eredivisie champions Ajax on Saturday.
Bayern will take on Napoli in their final pre-season fixture before opening their competitive fixtures with a DFB-Pokal tie against Bremer SV.
Meanwhile, Borussia Monchengladbach have played three pre-season friendlies so far as they continue with their preparations ahead of their 2021-22 campaign. Just like Nagelsmann, Borusssia Monchengladbach new manager Adi Hutter was also awaiting his first victory after first two friendlies and the third time was lucky for him. Monchengladbach opened with a 2-2 draw with FC Koln and proceeded to lose 3-1 to SC Paderborn before recording their first win of the summer against Metz which ended 1-0 in favor of Hutter’s side.
Borussia Monchengladbach will take on FC Groningen in their final warm-up fixture before their DFB-Pokal opener against Kaiserslautern on August 9.
