Barcelona will be looking to recover from the champions league defeat to Bayern Munich at home, when they host Granada this Monday Sept 20th at Camp Nou.
The Catalans failed to register a single shot on target as they were dismantled by Bayern Munich at home in their first European fixture of the season. Koeman is willing to register a positive result in the league to give their fans something to smile about.
Monday’s fixture against Granada will mark the first La Liga of this month following the last weekends match against Sevilla was postponed due to clash with world cup qualifiers in South America. Barcelona have made a solid start to their La Liga season, with a 4-2 win over Real Sociedad before the 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao and their last encounter before the international break saw a 2-1 victory against Getafe.
Barcelona came out of the transfer window a considerably weaker looking unit after the summer. The departures of Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann seem to have a major change on them. Koeman is however confident with the presence of Memphis Depay.
Granada on the other hand, come to this fixture having not been able to win in any of the four league matches played so far. The fixtures have been of a poor result on their side having drawn two matches and lost two. They lost 4-0 to Rayo Vallecano and 2-1 to Real Betis in their latest outings.
Earlier, Robert Moreno’s side opened their campaign with back-to-back draws against Villarreal and Valencia. This had Granada placed at the 17th position with the two points and will be too easy to see this side battling in the relegation end following their next four fixtures as they will take on Barcelona, Real Sociedad, Sevilla and Atletico.
However, Granada recorded a famous 2-1 win at Camp Nou in the corresponding match last season.
