Azerbaijan vs Slovakia Match Analysis and Prediction

Azerbaijan will host Slovakia at the Dalga Arena in their third match in Group C3 of the UEFA Nations League on Friday night.

Azerbaijan opened their 2022-23 UEFA Nations League campaign poorly with the side suffering a 2-0 defeat to Kazakhstan last week Friday, before recording a 0-0 draw against Belarus last Monday. That extended their poor run of 12 games without a win across all competitions, suffering nine defeats in the run, and they sit at the bottom of the group.

A defeat on Friday for Azerbaijan will realistically leave them out of the hunt for promotion to League B. Therefore, they will be desperate for a victory on Friday, although their home form is worrying and it will take a lot of effort for them to overcome Slovakia in the clash. They have lost in all their last six meetings against their visitors.

Slovakia opened the campaign with a 1-0 victory over Belarus last week Friday, before suffering a 1-0 defeat to Kazakhstan on Monday. They now sit second in the group standings with three points behind leaders Kazakhstan.

They will be looking to bounce back to winning ways as they look to keep their hope of returning to Division B alive, and having gone unbeaten in all but one of their last five away matches and their good record over their hosts we back them to claim their second win on Friday.
