Sunday’s Premier League action concludes at Villa Park, with Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa looking to bounce back when they take on a struggling Leicester City in an important Premier League fixture with kickoff at 19:30.
Villa have shown gradual improvement under the management former Rangers boss Steve Gerrard, winning his first two matches at the helm against Brighton at home and Crystal Palace on the road. Villa also did well in their last match against Manchester City and Gerrard will take lot positives from the clash despite losing out 2-1.
Gerrard’s side now occupy the 13th spot with 16 points from their 14 Premier League matches having, won five, drawn one and lost eight this season. They are six points clear of relegation zone while sit three behind the ninth-placed Brighton.
Villa head into the match looking to bounce back to winning ways and Gerrard will be desperate to deliver a positive result ahead of a huge fixture against Liverpool next weekend.
Meanwhile Leicester City were expected to once again challenge for a top-four finish this season, but have struggled for consistency in the league claiming five wins, four draws and five defeats from their 14 matches, collecting 19 points that have them sitting in the 10th , with just three points above their Sunday’s hosts.
The Foxes did well to bounce back from their 3-0 humiliation at home against Chelsea with a 4-2 success over Claudio Ranieri’s Watford at King Power last weekend before drawing 2-2 with Southampton in their midweek fixture.
With now just five points outside the top-four Leicester will look to make it two wins in three matches on the bounce in the Premier League as they bid to stay in touch with fourth position entering the festive period.
