Arsenal will be looking for their 11th successive victory when they welcome PSV Eindhoven to the Emirates for their postponed Matchday 2 tie of the Europa League in Group A on Thursday night.
Arsenal somehow managed to keep their stride on Sunday when Leeds had them wobbling at Elland Road. The Gunners nicked a 1-0 victory, through Bukayo Saka’s first half strike which saw them extend their winning streak to 10 matches across all competitions, while marking their 12th victory in 13 games this season.
Mikel Arteta’s side have only lost one this season in all competitions, with the only setback coming at Old Trafford where they lost 3-1 to Man United despite being the better side in that clash. With Manchester City losing out last time out it means that the Gunners have now gone four points clear at the top of the Premier League.
In the European campaign Arteta’s side have won all their opening three matches in Group A and currently sit top of the group, two points above PSV in second. A win on Thursday will give the Gunners a real chance to advance to the knockout stages, something they will want to achieve.
PSV on the other hand, have also made impressive campaigns in their domestic league and the Europa League. They sit second in Eredivisie on 24 point from 10 games, just one point behind Ajax at the summit.
The Dutch outfits claimed a 5-0 home win over Zurich in their previous Europa League fixture and then followed that up with a 6-1 win over Utrecht in Eredivisie. They have now won all their last four games across all competitions and should be buzzing with confidence ahead of the Emirates trip.
A win on Thursday will see them climb over Arsenal in Group A, which will increasing their chances of winning the group and proceeding to the last 16 directly.
