Boavista are heading into the Saturday’s clash with an aim of ending their eight-game winless run when they travel to take on Arouca in the Pimeira Liga.
A deaming form has seen the visitors go down to 10th position in the Primeira Liga table, while Arouca are just one point away at position 12.
Boavista had quite a strong start to the league this season, placed fifth in the table with eight points from their opening five matches.
However, consecutive draws that were part of a four-game unbeaten run were the start of an eight-game winless run, with Joao Pedro Sousa’s side having now failed to secure any victory in the league since the third round of fixtures.
After their consecutive draws with Estoril Praia, Braga and Belenenses, Boavista now head into Saturday following back-to-back heavy losses in the league, falling at first to a 4-1 loss to Porto.
They met Famalicao last time out, and though Petar Musa and Yusupha Njie scored, they were eventually trumped 5-2 making them drop to the 10th spot.
With Saturday’s fixture being their first since the recent international break, Boavista will hope to have a fresh start and a reversal of fortunes. They travel to Arouca who seem to have grown into the campaign after a slow start.
Following their promotion from the second tier last term, the hosts managed to earn just five points from their opening eight on the road.
Armando Evangelista’s side recorded their second league victory of the campaign as Joao Basso and Andre Bukia scored in a 2-0 win over Tondela, before they managed a 1-1 draw with Gil Vicente, making their points tally to 10 from matches.
Having gone three matches unbeaten, conceding just one goal, the Arouquenses will be of hope to continue their steady upturn in form.

Arouca news
They will be without forward Andre Silva through suspension and Omri Altman could lead the line on his behalf, while winger Arsenio will come in with confidence after getting on the scoresheet in the game with Gil Vicente, as Pite will be returning from a red card suspension.
Boavista news
Boavista have a problem in their squad with centre-backs Rodrigo Abascal, Tiago Ilori,Javi Garcia and Jackson Porozo alongside right-back Reggie Cannon all missing. That leaves Nathan Santos and Filipe Ferreira to potentially form a makeshift defence pairing.
Prediction and Odds
Boavista head to this match with a major hit on their defensive formation, and we see the hosts take advantage of that.
As Panteras will have a hard time fielding two geniune centre-backs, and with consideration that they have already struggled, we could back the hosts to take the points, no matter how narrowly.
