AFC Wimbledon vs Portsmouth Match Analysis and Prediction

Both Wimbledon and Portsmouth will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when they lock horns in an important League One fixture at The Cherry Red Records Stadium on Tuesday night with kickoff at 22:45.

AFC Wimbledon avoided relegation to the fourth-tier narrowly last term and they again find themselves in the relegation battle this season, with the side collecting just 26 points from their 23 matches and sit in the 20th spot. With four teams being relegated from the division, means that the Dons sit just a place and two points above the relegation zone.

They head into the match in a poor form having won none of their last five matches across all competitions, picking up just two draws and two defeats in the run and are coming off a 0-0 draw against the 21st-placed Morecambe in their previous League One outing at  home on Saturday.

However, they are in a good home form having lost none of their last five home matches and Mark Robinson will be hoping that his side can build on it as they aim at picking up vital three points on Tuesday.

Meanwhile Portsmouth opened the season impressively winning all their opening three matches, however, eve since Portsmouth have been on and off throughout the season and they currently find themselves in the ninth spot on 37 points and have now been forced to play catch up to the top six.

They head into the match on the back of 2-1 defeat to MK Dons at home last Saturday with the win marking their second winless match in the league as they were previously coming off a 0-0 draw against Cambridge at away.

The run saw them drop to their current position in the table and are now six points outside the top six and they will be desperate for a win on Tuesday as they look to close the gap between themselves and the playoff places.

They will fancy their chance in the clash as they have a good head to head record against their hosts recently. They have won in four of their last five meeting against Wimbledon.
