AC Milan vs Venezia Match Analysis and Prediction

Both AC Milan and Venezia will be looking to return to winning ways when they lock horns at the Giuseppe Meazza on Wednesday for the fifth Serie A round with kickoff at 21:45.

AC Milan are among the only four unbeaten sides in the Serie A this season having claimed a 1-1 draw against Juventus last weekend at away. Alvaro Morata opened the scoring in the fourth minute but Milan cancelled it out in the 76th minute through Ante Rebic’s header.

Milan opened the season strongly keeping an 100% against Sampdoria, Cagliari and Lazio in their opening three matches but were unable to maintain the perfect start against Juve. However, the draw kept them close to the top and on level with city rivals Inter at 10 points.

Now the Rossoneri will be looking to keep their unbeaten start in the Wednesday’s encounter where they are the favorites to salvage all the points as they have good record against Venezia having only lost one of their last 12 top-flight meetings against the newly promoted side. Milan also have an impressive record against newly-promoted sides as they have won 13 of their last 19 meetings with these sides, claiming five draws and keeping 11 cleans sheets in the process.

Meanwhile Venezia being a newly promoted side have had a rough at the start of the campaign as they have only claimed one win in their opening four matches losing out in the other three. They earned their promotion to the top-flight after missing out for 19 years and currently sit just one point above the relegation zone with three points and -5 goal difference.

The Arancioneroverdi head into the match off the back of 2-1 home defeat to Empoli last weekend and Paolo Zanetti will want his team to bounce back and avoid the relegation zone but that will be tough task as they AC Milan a side they beat last in March 2002, winning 1-0 at home and repeating their success from over 20 years could prove to be a tall order.
