AC Milan vs Bologna Match Analysis and Prediction

Reigning champions AC Milan will host Bologna at San Siro in their Serie A Matchday three tie on Saturday night.

Milan have made a good start to the defence of the Scudetto as they claimed four points form the available six so far. They beat Udinese 4-2 at home on the opening day before drawing 1-1 at Atalanta last time out.

Stefano Pioli will consider the draw a minor setback in their bid to retain their Serie A title and will want his side to get back on track on Saturday.

Milan have gone unbeaten against Bologna in their last 13 league matches, picking up 11 victories and two draws in the process. They also remain unbeaten against Bologna in their last six home encounters, winning five and drawing one on the run. They should therefore be confident of bouncing back to winning ways on Saturday.

Bologna meanwhile have made a difficult start to new campaign, as they have failed to win any of their opening two matches, suffering a 2-1 defeat at Lazio on the first day before drawing 1-1 with Verona at home last time out.

Bologna finished 13th in the league last season on 46 points, four points outside the top half of the table. Their main target this season is to finish in the top 10 places, but thy will need to claiming maximum points as soon as possible to lay a good foundation for that.

Up next though is the reigning champions AC Milan who have dominated this fixture, and are currently in a good form having gone unbeaten in their last five matches across all competitions. Bologna will need to bring more than their top game to claim anything from the tie.
