Aberdeen will look to end their 10-match winless run across all competitions when they welcome Hibernian to Pittodrie Stadium for their Scottish Premiership Matchday 31 tie on Saturday evening with kickoff at 18:00.
Aberdeen have endured a tough second half to the season, with the club failing to win any of their 10 Premiership matches of the second season so far, picking up five draws while also suffering five defeats in the process and head into the match on back two consecutive league defeats against Hearts (2-0) and Rangers (1-0).
As result the Dons have dropped into the bottom half and now sit just a place above the relegation zone, although they are eight points in the clear of the bottom-two.
However with three matches still remaining, Aberdeen still stands the risk of being relegated to the Championship next season and thus they need every point they can get in order to maintain their status in the top-flight.
Meanwhile Hibernian have been a enjoying a good run recently with the side going unbeaten in their last six matches across all competitions, including one win and three draws in Premiership, and two victories in the Scottish Cup – against Arbroath in fifth round and Motherwell in the quarter-finals.
Six points from their last four Premiership matches has seen the climb back into the top-half and currently sit in fourth on 37 points from 30 matches, 13 points below the third-placed Hearts and just four above the 10th-placed Aberdeen.
Therefore a defeat on Saturday could lead to a bid drop for Hibs and thus will head into the match all guns blazing for maximum points. They will draw confidence from their recent solid run and the 2-1 victory against Motherwell last Saturday at away in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup.
