Both Aberdeen and Dundee will be looking to return to winning ways when they go toe-to-toe at Pittodrie Stadium in their second fixture of the Relegation Group in the Premiership on Saturday evening with kickoff at 17:00.
Both sides made minimal campaigns in the first phase of the season with both failing to secure spots in the top half of the table before the split. However, Aberdeen are in a far better situation than Dundee as the Dons currently sitting five points above the relegation spots and 10 points above the Dark Blues, who sit at the bottom of table with 10 points adrift of safety.
Both sides opened the second phase in fashions they would not have liked as Aberdeen fell a 2-1 Livingstone at home last Saturday, while Dundee were held to a 1-1 draw against fellow relegation candidates St Johnstone.
With four matches remaining to go Aberdeen have a better chance to seal their survival and a win on Saturday could help them do that, while Dundee will need to put in extra efforts to clinch a survival this season. Dundee need to win all their remaining matches to stand a chance of surviving the Premiership, meaning they cannot afford another poor result on Saturday.
